First Aid with Forestry and Hillside Elective

Helping farmers stay safe on the farm, forest and hillside with this dedicated first aid course.

In the event of an emergency on the farm, you will need the necessary skills and training to keep you and your family, neighbours and colleagues safe. This full-day course will help farmers on the Health & Safety EIP scheme learn the theory and practical skills to perform first aid until the medical professionals take over.

This course builds on the required skills, knowledge and understanding from Emergency First Aid at Work to give farmers the critical breadth and depth they need in the Farming industry.

A range of subjects are covered including:

  • Catastrophic Bleeding Control

  • Tourniquets

  • Crush injuries

  • Effects of extreme cold

  • Lyme disease

  • Emergency planning and remote medical assistance

At the end of the course participants will get a certificate of training in Emergency First Aid and a Skills Identity Card.


Dates:

  • Sat 9th July - Wild Goat Café, Letterfrack - COMPLETED

  • Sat 6th August - Recess School

  • Sat Oct 8th - Recess School
